European Day of Languages Week
One Continent, Many Voices
Did you know?
The European Union has 24 official languages, reflecting Europe's incredible cultural and linguistic diversity.
Today we're celebrating every language learned, spoken and loved by our students.
At Bishop’s, we have many students who come to us already bilingual, an amazing ability to speak and understand, and perhaps also read and write another language as well as English. Later on, if the exam exists, students can get a GCSE in these languages, to credit their hard work outside the classroom, learning to read and write in often another alphabet, not just language.
Celebrate the joy of languages with us this European Day of Languages. Ask your language teacher about the competition we are running and pick up a quiz entry form from one of the Language Classrooms (18, 19, 28 or 29).
The deadline for entries for the competition is Friday 2nd October.
