End of Term Arrangements - Dec 21

PJG/AHW

7th December 2021

Dear Parents/Carers

I am writing to explain the end of term arrangements and Student COVID testing in the New Year:

Last day of term – Friday 17th December 2021 (Wear What You Like Day)

On Friday 17th December we are having a non-uniform day to raise money for Hereford Food Bank, St Michael’s Hospice and Crisis (a homelessness charity). Donations for this can be made via Scopay using the option titled ‘WWYLD Dec 2021.’

School will also finish at 1.00pm when the contract buses will collect students.  Those children who travel on service buses may need to make alternative arrangements. Please complete and return the reply slip below to your child’s Form Tutor by Monday 13th December at the latest. If you have any difficulties with these arrangements please do not hesitate to contact the school.  Without the reply slips your son/daughter will have to remain in school until 3.00pm.

Over the Christmas Holidays we would be grateful if you could check the school uniform code (this is detailed in the information booklets on the school website) and ensure that students return to school as smart as possible, ready to learn and “be the best that they can be!”

The Spring Term starts at the normal time, 8.50am for all year groups on Tuesday 4th January 2022.

The Department for Education has asked schools to test students for COVID on our return to school in January following the Christmas break to keep the school community safe.

To minimise the disruption to learning, we are asking that all students ensure that they have taken a Lateral Flow Test (LFT) on Monday 3rd January before returning to school on Tuesday.

We will then LFT test all students with consent at the beginning of the week beginning Tuesday 4th January. Please update your permission for COVID testing on the student app if you wish to do so.

Kind regards

Pete Gibbins
